Flu activity most commonly peaks in the United States between December and February, although some cases have already been reported. You can take everyday preventive actions like staying away from sick people and washing your hands to reduce the spread of germs. If you are sick with flu, stay home from work or school to prevent spreading flu to others. In addition, there are prescription medications called antiviral drugs that can be used to treat influenza illness. Please visit your doctor if you suspect you or your child may have the flu.
Our office has the same policy as the school districts – if you or your child are not fever-, vomit-, or diarrhea-free for 24 hours, you must reschedule your appointment. We cannot risk exposing other patients, particularly our medically fragile patients, to the flu. Thank you for your consideration.
